Winston ads on violating TC Law
Japan Tobacco is distributing advertisements of its Winston brand board to the cigarette sellers by ignoring the tobacco control law. The staffs of the cigarette company are passing busy times to prepare boards using empty cigarette packets. Japan tobacco is aggressively advertising with such decorative boxes in different important public places which is completely banned by the tobacco control law. The existing tobacco control law orders to punish with a three-month rigorous imprisonment or a monetary fine less than Tk 100,000 or both and if the offence is done twice, and penalties will be doubled gradually. If such tobacco advertisements are on, the tobacco control activities of the government will be hampered to a great extent.
