Death Marketing-1BATB Promoting Itself in the Name of CSR
British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) has recently advertised its so-called corporate social responsibility (CSR) program Probaho covering half of the page area of a national daily. BATB has long been using such CSR programs to hide its death trade and promote itself as a development partner in the government's bid to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs). These CSR programs are nothing but a cover for BATB to hide its stained brand image from the people and the policymakers. The tobacco control law must be amended to put an end to such CSR programs of tobacco companies. |
