Death Marketing-1Probaho: the so-called CSR of BATB!
Under the banner of Probaho, the British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) funded CSR program, a number of safe drinking water booths have been established at Koyra locality of Khulna. A member of parliament (MP) attended the inauguration event as the chief guest. Notably, tobacco claims on average 442 lives each day in Bangladesh. Tobacco companies resort to such so-called corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs to hide their role in this trail of deaths and destruction and to put a fake positive spin on its brand image. So, all kinds of CSR activities of tobacco companies must be banned by finalizing the draft amendment of the tobacco control law. |
