Tobacco Company Awarded Once Again!

As a continuation of previous trend, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has, once again, awarded the owner of ‘jarda’ company and a multinational tobacco company as top taxpayers of the country. Such tendency of NBR is in conflict with the Honorable Prime Minister’s vision to build a tobacco-free country. However, the Ministry of Industries (MoInd) has already declared tobacco companies ‘ineligible’ for the prestigious ‘President’s Award for Industrial Development’. The other government bodies should follow suit and avoid honoring personas and organizations involved in tobacco trade.
