Death Marketing -2Tobacco Ads vibrant in TV Drama!
Phillip Morris International is advertising Marlboro cigarette through TV Drama cunningly by violating tobacco control (TC) law in a regular basis. Their main target is to promote brands to the youth of the country. This type of promotion of tobacco products in print and electronic media is totally prohibited according to 5 (D) of TC law 2005 (amended in 2013). If anyone contravenes the provisions of this section he/she shall be punishable with simple imprisonment of maximum three months or a fine up to one lac taka or both. The implementation agencies of government has to take steps right now to stop this type of violation or else the country will be accelerating towards tobacco epidemic- the biggest threat to public health. |
