Death Marketing -2Marlboro campaigns for retail tobacco sellers
With the aim to attract the retail sellers, a month-long campaign has started for Marlboro cigarette. Ignoring the TC law, Philip Morris International (PMI) has adopted a new technique to increase sell of the cigarette. It is offering a colorful lighter to those who are submitting three packets of Marlboro Advance and two packets of Marlboro Gold together in June and the posters of the offer are pasted on the retail selling points. Besides, there is another condition that only the gifts are applicable for the sellers which means that PMI is inspiring the retail sellers to sell Marlboro brand. Notably the existing tobacco control law has penalty for such advertisement – rigorous imprisonment for not more than three months or fine not more than Tk One lakh (100,000), or both and if the offense is repeated again, the penalties will be doubled gradually. |
