Death Marketing -2DTI marketing strategy targets minors
Recently the Dhaka Tobacco Industry (DTI) is conducting innovative advertisements of its products by violating the tobacco control law. The country has been covered up by the advertisement resembling the British Flag. The DTI is also serving the attractive flags in line with alluring words which is attracting the children. Notably, following the existing tobacco control law, the punishment for such advertisement is a three-month rigorous imprisonment or a monetary fine less than Tk 100,000 or bothm and if the crime is committed twice or often, the punishment will be doubled. The tobacco company is running its advertisement by evading the law in this way. |
