Death Marketing -2JTI wild for market stake
Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has become desperate to market its cigarette brand – Winston across the country. The company is running promotion with T-Shirts and leaflets resembling the cigarette packets. To attract the customers, it has issued small cigarette packets of 10 sticks in the market. The JTI is adopting such tricky measures to attract the consumers into smoking this particular brand. Notably, the penalties for violating the tobacco control law, which bans all types of tobacco products’ advertisements, are rigorous imprisonment for less than three month or a monetary fine less than BDT 100,000 or both and if the law is violated for the second time, the fine will be doubled accordingly. Tobacco companies are continuing their advertisements by violating the law and such advertisements should be stopped to protect the youths from the destructive clutch of tobacco. |
