Death Marketing -2BOND campaigns for retail tobacco sellers
With the aim to attract the retail sellers, a month-long campaign has started for BOND cigarette. Ignoring the TC law, Dhaka Tobacco has adopted a new technique to increase sell of the cigarette. In exchange of three empty BOND cigarette packets, it is providing a full pack of BOND cigarettes to the smokers for free and it is exhibited by the posters on the point of sale walls. Besides, there is another condition that only the gifts are applicable for the sellers which means that Dhaka Tobacco is inspiring the retail sellers to sell BOND brand. Notably the existing tobacco control law has penalty for such advertisement – simple imprisonment not exceeding three months or fine not more than Tk One lakh (100,000), or both and if the offense is repeated again, the penalties will be doubled gradually. |
