Death Marketing -2So called `research’ by tobacco company to manipulate national budget (2017-18 FY)!
Annually right before the national budget, tobacco companies launch various campaigns to grab policymakers’ attention. They conducted paid researches through different organizations. Such an attempt is discovered very recently. A research organization named ‘The Neilson Company (Bangladesh) Limited’ has started a research work titled – Bidi Industry and its Future. It is anticipated that the research is being conducted with support from the tobacco companies to influence the policymakers in the upcoming budget of 2017-18 fiscal years. Notably, Neilson had conducted a research in 2012 over tobacco cultivation with the financing of British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB). Everyone should remain aware of such ill attempts of tobacco companies. |
