Death Marketing -2DTI launches campaign to allure retailer
Dhaka Tobacco Industry (DTI) has launched a campaign for promoting its Sheikh cigarette by attracting the retailers. The retailers are given a Scratch Card against each of 40 empty packs (10 sticks) of Sheikh cigarette. And, the card will be garnered with a guaranteed prize. Posters showing the pictures of prizes are pasted in every store. Notably, the existing tobacco control law has penalty for such advertisement – rigorous imprisonment for not more than three months or fine not more than Tk One lakh (100,000), or both and if the offense is repeated again, the penalties will be doubled gradually. |
