Abul Khayer Tobacco is promoting its brand Rally Verve throughout the country which is a clear violation of the tobacco control law of the country. Glossy leaflets are being handed to the youth and low-income people of the country to provoke them and get them hooked on smoking. And this death trap of tobacco industry is making the life of poor people measurable. Notably, the punishment for advertising tobacco and tobacco products, under the existing law, is a simple imprisonment or a monetary fine not exceeding Tk. 100,000 or both the penalties and if the offence is found again, the punishment will be doubled. |
