Death Marketing -2Aggressive Push to Promote Vaping
Vape traders have rolled out an aggressive marketing push to get more people hooked on vaping by promoting it as a safe alternative to cigarettes. The campaign misleads mass people by claiming that switching to vaping can prevent lung cancer. This is a part of vape industry's cunning tactic to distort information released by the World Health Organization and present it manipulatively to support its business interest. According to WHO Report on Global Tobacco Epidemic 2021, all electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) products, including e-cigarettes, vaping, etc., are quite injurious to health. To safeguard public health, a total of 32 countries which include India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, have banned e-cigarettes. Bangladesh must follow suit by amending tobacco control law at the earliest, and ban production, import, marketing and sale of these products. |
