Death Marketing -2BATB Using CSR as Cover for Advertisement
On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the multinational tobacco company British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) posted a half-page advertisement in a national daily of its CSR initiative "Bonayan". BATB has been using its CSR activities as a cover to hide its death trade and to promote itself as a development partner of Bangladesh government. BATB has also been promoting itself as a development partner of Bangladesh government. The existing tobacco control law must be amended to ensure a comprehensive ban on tobacco companies' so-called CSR activities. |
