Abul Khair Tobacco Company Limited (AKTCL) has been violating tobacco control law by using alluring messages to promote its cig brands. The sole intention of the company is to expand its market share in the low-tier of cigarettes and encourage the lower-income population into lighting up. The existing tobacco control law bans the advertisement and promotion of tobacco products at points of sale and considers violations as punishable offenses. Strict implementation of the law must be ensured to end all advertisements and promotions of tobacco products. |
