BATB Rewarded Once Again!

Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce (MinCom), once again handed over the ICAB National Awards for the "Best Presented Annual Report" to British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB). The commerce minister handed over the award in a gala event. This is the 8th time BATB has received the award. It should be noted that, in 2021, the Ministry of Industries (MoInd) declared tobacco companies ineligible for the prestigious President's Award for Industrial Development. Other ministries should follow suit and stop showering tobacco companies with such accolades.
