Death Marketing-1BATB concert deferred
Multinational tobacco maker, British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) had organized a six-day long concert from September 19 for the private university students, but had to postpone the event within the first two-days. Defying the amended tobacco control law of 2013, it organized the concert at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC). The attempt was made to popularize BATB’s new brand ‘Benson & Hedges Fine Cut’ among the young students of different private universities. It invited BRAC university students on September 21 for attending the concert, but later suspended the event on 7.00pm. Notably, the authority informed about the suspension to Anti-Tobacco Media Alliance (ATMA) journalists, who went at BICC to cover the concert. |
