Deforestation on, furnaces awaits fuel!

Tobacco leaves baking season is ahead, and thereby, the tobacco companies are stocking woods to be used as fuel for the tobacco furnaces. Tobacco harvesting will begin soon. All the preparations are underway to use the piled forests for baking tobacco leaves on the adjoining furnaces. Simultaneously, a farce is being staged by the name of forestation with the guise of corporate social responsibility that also buys fame and rewards for them like environment awards and more (check the inset picture that reads ‘Forestation- a private afforestation project, a big project and nationally awarded’.) Tobacco companies are destroying and degrading our woodlands, agriculture, soil fertility, environment, economy and overall the public health. Let’s participate in diminishing the activities of the tobacco companies aimed for tobacco farming.
